As this campaign develops I will be populating this page with my
position on issues. Regardless of the issue, my position will be guided by
my principles:
Fiscal
Responsibility
Fiscal responsibility must be a priority. This means not spending money on today's problems with money which
must be repaid by our children and grandchildren. |
|
| |
Strong Defense
A strong defense is vital.
The most important function of the federal
government is our security. |
|
| |
Second Amendment
Every amendment which constitutes the Bill of Rights
is a precious gift to us from the founders of our
country. I am an avid and vocal supporter of our
second amendment rights to keep and bear arms. I was
endorsed by the National Rifle Association in my
2002 and 2006 Secretary of State races. |

Reducing Federal Government
The size of the federal government must be reduced.
This means managing and regulating by the federal
government only as a last resort. Most government
functions can be performed more efficiently and
effectively by state and local governments. |
|
| |
Economic
Prosperity
Encouraging opportunities for economic prosperity.
Allowing citizens to keep more of what they earn
by minimizing taxes and allowing our economy to be fed by private sector
growth not the federal government. |

Life Before Birth
The abortion issue deeply divides voters today. As a
candidate, I believe that you need to know where I
stand. I am pro-life and base my position on deeply
held convictions. Our incumbent Representative voted
to reject restrictions on federal abortion funding
in recent health care legislation. I would support
legislation to prohibit taxpayer funding for
abortion. As other legislation is considered
regarding the life of the unborn, I will be a strong
pro-life supporter. |
